Definition of Present Continuous Tense
Present continuous tense or present progressive tense is a form of verb that is used to express the action that is happening now (present) or plans for the future (future).

Present Continuous Tense formula
Present continuous tense is formed with the auxiliary verb "be", in the form of is / am / are - because of the present tense (current time), and present participle (-ing).
Is used on subjects such as singular noun (such as: Tita, book) and third person singular pronoun (such as: she, he, it); are on plural nouns (like: boys, men, books), plural pronouns (like: we, they) and you; while am on I.

The following formula is the present continuous tense for positive, negative, and interrogative sentences.

Functions and Examples of Presentations Continuous Tense Present continuous tense to talk about an action that is happening now. Time expressions that can be used include: now at the moment (now) over the holidays (during holidays)

2 I’m driving a car to Bandung now. (I’m driving to Bandung now.)

3 He is learning English in order to be a great guide. (He is learning English to become a great tour guide.)

4 I‘m living with my sister at the moment. (I live with my sister at this time.)

Present continuous tense to discuss a plan or move to a place / condition. The time that can be used include:
1. on Sunday
2. at nine o’clock on Sunday (at nine o'clock on Sunday)
3. next week / month (next week / month)
4. this month

3	The buses are arriving in an hour. (Bus-bus tersebut tiba dalam satu jam.)
4	I’m moving to West Jakarta this month. (Saya pindah ke Jakarta Barat bulan ini.)

Present continuous tense to express annoyance over repeated actions.

1	Why is the wild dog always barking at me? (Mengapa anjing liar itu selalu menggonggong pada saya?)
2	I’m getting sick of you always asking the same questions. (Saya mulai muak dengan kamu yang selalu menanyakan pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang sama.)
